from the bodytonic podcasts is a awesome themed mix by a mysterious contributor by the name of CK on the topic of daft punk's influences. since the first time CK heard daft punk's "homework" he became obsessed with tracking down the records that influenced them, from pepe bradock, moodymann, daniel wang and motorbass to non-dance producers like can and ween. CK also discovered that many of there influences were from chicago and had released tracks on labels like cajual, relief and dancemania.

eventually CK came up with a list of 300 tracks, then slowly paired it down to whatever worked out in terms of it actually becoming a mix. he landed his first residency at zeta bar,moving on to goo chi and bean bag bohemia respectively. in july 2006 he secured the position as resident opening dj at the infamous tilt nightclub, a spot he occupied until the club closed in april 2009. he also played as guest dj at venues such as de la soul, vacca matta pmb, society, cofi brooklyn, maseko villa, 033 lifestyle, the origin, vestige and blaque lounge. being featured on 5 FM's vinyl frontier, gagasi 99.5 FM, www.horizondeep.com has given DJ M a fair deal of exposure, which he wishes to build on.

his style incorporates warm keys and pads, driving drum patterns, jazz and vocal elements which sound as comfortable in clubs as they do in lounges and cocktail bars. always slightly nostalgic, his sets pay tribute to the raw house music sound of the 90's that laid the foundation for what deep house sounds like today. for DJ M, presentation has always been key. he has built a reputation for his tight technical ability behind the decks whether on vinyl, cd or controller.

timmy richardson aka "TOT". people often wonder what that means. its short for the other timmy. he was dubbed this by raven fox years ago because of the confusion with timmy regisford. timmy richardson hails from new york city by way of the bronx. he has been spinning since 1978 and did his own college party in 1982 at western new england college. while at that school, timmy became a radio host. in those days in springfield, massachussetts the only way to hear any kind of dance and soul music was through the college deejays. so the show was very popular. his radio name in those days was "the disco prince".

as time moved on timmy honed his craft by doing mobile gigs and spinning in a few nightclubs. he was also a big fan of new york radio with WBLS' frankie crocker being one of his idols. by 1989, timmy hooked up with the wildly popular "wild pitch" parties thrown by greg daye. they became partners and eventually hooked up with the late hector cruz' "house nation" parties in the early 90's. these parties became some of the most popular in the underground scene drawing 1000's of people including celebraties. eventually though the city cracked down on illegal spaces and the parties fizzled out.

over the years timmy has spun with many of the underground scenes deejays including larry levan, timmy regisford, tee scott, francois k, david morales, louie vega, nick jones , bobby konders, john robinson, joey llanos, kenny carpenter, the late camacho, victor rosado, kim lightfoot and jackie christie. in 1995, timmy did a six day tour of japan spinning at three different nightclubs. in 1997, timmy partnered with pernell morrison and tabu (soul summit) to start the coney island boardwalk parties. they were known as "black underground". timmy was part of it for two years. they became very popular.

in 2000 and 2002 he spun in belgium with the "fame sucks" crew. he also plays out of state in places like washington d.c., boston, in new jersey and miami respectively. timmy was also one of the first deejays to play on sammyrock's cyberjamz radio show in 2003 and it is still going on strong today being one of the most popular underground stations online. he also owns the most popular deep house website deephousepage.com widely known as "DHP".

these days timmy spends a lot of time creating mash-ups, remixes and re-edits. he delved in production in the late 80's to early 90's working with l.b. bad and greg daye. in 2006 his "voices/can you see the light" mash-up was released on restricted access records and in 2010 louie vega featured his remix of dennis ferrer's "touched the sky" on a king street records compliation. later this year, timmy's edit of the jones girls "nights over egypt" will be released on a 40th anniversary philadelphia international records cd compliation.

alexandree, fabrizio diglio and dasoul have came together to give us a combination of excitement as the dj collective "deep character". dasoul has personally described this as a "beginning of a fantastic adventure". he learned a lot for a long time and long before he had recognized this, his dreams were coming true. first named "dj yoshi" by a close friend, dasoul was a promoter working alongside ciro cangianiello and friends who later joined the total eclipse pr. they were responsible for throwing the huge parties over time featuring artists such as jackmaster prez, luca columbo, principe maurice, tony maione, joe doppio, dj omar, francesco savarese and andrea gambardella to name a few. dasoul also as collaborated with fabrizio on several major projects for labels including sofi tone.

this experience also continues with fabrizio diglio who long ago confirmed his love for deep soulful house music back in italy where he played at several clubs including turistico, arnile, la mela, chez moi, neo point (ex voga) and duel beat. fabrizio has been focused on delivering his best outside of the booth as a producer of deep soulful house music. with his partners dasoul and madboss, he has produced several sucessful releases for labels such as sole channel music, city deep, king street and underground collective respectively. he also has collaborated with celebrated artists such as stephanie cooke, johnny dangerous, william scott, sabrina chylds, nadine navarre and mia tuttavilla. he is currently resident dj at flyaway crew and collaborates monthly with the drop crew at the arenile club.

jack sheets aka shapeshifter has been a constant force in ohio's electronic music scene for nearly 15 years. originally a drum & bass dj, jack sheets helped elevate ohio's local scene in the late 1990's by hosting and deejaying many popular events in the cities most popular nightspots and also by making rounds at large scale rave parties. jack played alongside world class acts such as LTJ bukem, bad company, john b. goldie and dieselboy on a regular basis.

in 2003, jack and friend, mike richards formed the drum & bass production duo "random movement" and quickly found themselves atop the charts with signings to major labels such as breakbeat science, bassbin recordings and dj marky's innerground label, respectively. there quick rise to success was cemented with top selling singles such as "stars in the dark" and "what a woman". due to career path changes, jack sheets and mike richards split amicably a few years later.
